REPLACE IMPLANT

After the implant has been in place for ix number of years, the implant may crack or begin to leak. You notice that this happens when the breast begins to look less full. Make sure to get this fixed as soon as possible for your own sake.

If a silicone implant ruptures, it can cause scar tissue that can feel uncomfortable, clumsy or cause hardening of the breast tissue and can thus affect future mammograms. The longer the silicone gel is in direct contact with the breast tissue, the more difficult it is to remove all the gel.
